12/12/2024 - A. Capisciolto and K. Kendall to lead IFASS after Chiara Del Prete
Chiara Del Prete, IFASS Chair, is pleased to announce the of her mandate in Spring 2025 and her successors.
The IFASS Secretariat is pleased to announce that, following a nomination process to determine Chiara's successor, Armand Capisciolto, Chair of Canada's Accounting Standards Board (AcSB), and Dr. Keith Kendall, Chair of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB), will serve as co-chairs of IFASS for a two- to three-year term starting with the preparations for the September 2025 IFASS meeting.
Chiara Del Prete's term as IFASS Chair, which began after the March 2022 IFASS meeting, will end after the March 2025 IFASS meeting that will be held in Naples, Italy. EFRAG provided the IFASS Secretariat function during this period.
"It has been an honour to serve as Chair of IFASS since March 2022. During my term, we have endeavoured to ensure inclusive participation from multiple jurisdictions and to continue in the attempt of having a space for independent thinking and cooperation between jurisdictions about corporate reporting developments. This mandate coincided with the progressive adoption of mandatory sustainability reporting obligations worldwide and with the broadening of the international corporate reporting community to embrace sustainability. IFASS operations currently reflect this broader spectrum. Substantial attention has been devoted to building a collective understanding of connectivity's challenges and opportunities while covering a breadth of jurisdictional developments and thought leadership topics and to the IASB and ISSB workplan. Both the AASB and AcSB have been key contributors during my term. I am confident that under Armand and Keith's leadership IFASS will continue to play a pivotal role."
