Jose Moneva

Jose is Full Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Zaragoza (UZ). His research on Social and Environmental Accounting and Reporting (SEAR) has been recognized by national and international academics. His collaboration with researchers and groups (Univ of Trento, Leuphana Univ, Univ Santiago de Chile...), has given rise to different projects and scientific works of high impact on the area. He has been a principal researcher of several competitive projects. Currently, he is coordinator of a research group of excellence (https://ecocircular.unizar.es/). Throughout these years Jose has been a guest speaker at national and international conferences, highlighting the participation in 2 SEAR symposia of the European Accounting Association Congress. He is member (or former member) of national and international committees: Sustainability Advisory Committee (ICAC), FEE Sustainability Group, Global Reporting Initiative Economic Subgroup and European Sustainability Reporting Association.  

Jose's collaboration already initiated with CIRCE and other engineering research groups specialized in energy and resource efficiency implies a step forward, by introducing the circular economy in the sustainability performance measurement, accounting and reporting. He teaches in bachelor’s and master's degrees, mainly in subjects on social and environmental accounting, for different universities. This collaboration has served to develop several contracts with companies and organizations. 

Jose is co-director of the postgraduate degree in Sustainability & CSR Management (UZ). Since 2006, he has been working in various management tasks and was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of UZ (2015-2023).
