Ben Renier

Ben joined the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting team as Senior Technical Manager in April 2024.

From May 2021 to March 2024, he was the EMEIA Public Policy Insights Leader at EY. He was monitoring emerging regulatory developments and overall responsible for developing and managing content especially on EU-related Public Policy topics around sustainability, audit and assurance, digital, tax and financial services.

From October 2016 to April 2021, Ben worked as Head of Corporate and Public sector reporting at Accountancy Europe.  

From November 2007 to September 2016, he was a Director in the Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services at PwC Belgium and PwC US. Ben has recognised technical expertise in IFRS, Belgian GAAP and IPSAS (IFRS for public sector entities). He gained extensive practical experience in helping international groups (organisations) with their IFRS (IPSAS) conversion projects and by providing them with technical accounting advice.

Ben started his career as a financial statement auditor in 2000 at Deloitte Belgium covering both private (including quoted companies) and public sector entities. The scope of the performed audits included consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, USGAAP and Belgian GAAP as well as statutory accounts in accordance with Belgian GAAP.
