Laura Kennedy

Laura is an insurance technical accounting leader at PwC. Her global role involves bringing together PwC’s member firms across the world to solve accounting issues affecting insurers, and provide the right guidance at the right time.

Previously, Laura was a key member of the IASB’s technical staff supporting the implementation of IFRS 17. This included the running of the Transition Resource Group, as well as developing and writing the amendments to the standard. 

She also led the first phase of the IFRS 9 post-implementation review and supported the IFRS Interpretations Committee.

Before her time with the IASB, Laura managed audits in the insurance practice, specialising in the life industry.

Laura is a chartered accountant with a degree in accounting and finance.
